We have been having a lot of fun product testing in the recent summer weather! One of our favourite activities has been thinking up new games to play with our existing products.
With the title of 'Favourite Auntie' to uphold, I have been working particularly hard on this during family BBQs - and actually, it turns out that playing garden games with the kids is way more fun than grownup activities like preparing the food, cooking or clearing up - who knew!?
The most recent game we have added to the 'Garden Olympics' (well, any activity sort of has to be Olympic themed just now, right?) is called Balloon Ball Bowling. Anyone who follows us on Instagram or Facebook will have seen a short clip of this already. This can be set up using any old plastic bottles or cans, but for our purposes I raided the recycling box in my brother's kitchen and found lots of empty water bottles and an old milk carton. Here is a clip of my niece doing a great job on her turn.
The game is really simple, just like ten pin bowling really. We weighted the balloon ball with a little water (pour as much water as the empty balloon will take before you blow it up - making sure the balloon is already inside the cover will make your life so much easier too!). We took turns bowling, and as a little extra educational fun my 4 year old niece calculated how many bottles we each knocked down on our turn.

I know it's supposed to be nearing the end of summer already, but I have firm hopes that the warm weather will continue long into September. Fingers crossed!
